Role Description
This full-time Caseworker role is an on-site position based in Glasgow, supporting an elected MP in delivering high-quality service to constituents. On a day-to-day basis, the Caseworker will handle constituent enquiries, assess individual circumstances, and provide information, guidance, or advocacy on a wide range of social, legal, and public service issues. The role involves managing case files, maintaining accurate records, drafting correspondence, and liaising with government departments, local authorities, and other agencies to resolve complex cases. The Caseworker will also identify recurring issues affecting the constituency, prepare briefings for the MP, and help signpost constituents to appropriate support services. Regular contact with members of the public is central to the role, requiring a professional, empathetic, and confidential approach.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in case management and casework, including assessing needs, prioritising tasks, and tracking progress.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate, and sensitive correspondence.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and adhere to data protection requirements.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Comfort working in a political and public-service environment, with an understanding of UK public services and local support networks.
- IT literacy, including use of email, word processing, and casework or CRM systems.
- Relevant education or training in social work, public administration, politics, law, or a related discipline is advantageous.
