Caseworker Opportunity with Government Department

Red Snapper Recruitment is seeking Caseworkers to support a Government Department with reviewing and processing applications.

You will assess applications against agreed criteria, review evidence and supporting documents, make accurate decisions, maintain clear case records and escalate complex or high-risk cases when required. This is a structured, target-driven role requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.

Location: 100% Remote

Contract: 6 months – must be available to start 21 September 2026

Rate: £190 per day PAYE / £250 per day Umbrella

Vetting: SC clearance preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess applications against eligibility criteria and guidance.
  • Check evidence and supporting documentation, identifying missing or inconsistent information.
  • Make evidence-based decisions and escalate complex or higher-risk cases.
  • Manage a caseload and meet agreed deadlines and service levels.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, decisions and actions.
  • Follow all relevant procedures, information security and data protection requirements.
  • Support quality assurance, team meetings and continuous improvement.

About You

You will have experience in casework, application assessment, compliance, screening, administration or regulatory decision-making. You should be comfortable reviewing evidence against set criteria, maintaining accurate records and working within structured processes and performance targets.

You will also have:

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to interpret guidance and make objective, evidence-based decisions.
  • Strong written communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage workloads independently and identify issues requiring escalation.
  • Good Microsoft Office and digital systems skills.
  • A professional, reliable and confidential approach.

Desirable: Experience within government, the public sector, regulatory, legal or grant administration environments, as well as high-volume processing, eligibility assessment, compliance or quality assurance.
