Our Vacancy
Are you passionate about helping people live independently and making a real difference in your community? We are looking for a dedicated and organised Caseworker to support customers through the Disabled Facilities Grant and home adaptations process.
This is a rewarding role where you will become the key point of contact for customers, guiding them from initial enquiry through to completed adaptations. Working closely with customers, contractors, local authorities and partner agencies, you will ensure each case is managed efficiently, professionally and with compassion.

What You Will Be Doing
- Managing a caseload of customers requiring home adaptations and support services.
- Visiting customers in their homes to assess needs and provide guidance throughout the grant process.
- Coordinating Disabled Facilities Grants, loans and private adaptation works from start to finish.
- Acting as the main point of contact between customers, contractors, colleagues and external partners.
- Completing and processing grant and loan applications and associated documentation.
- Maintaining accurate customer records, reports and performance data.
- Advising customers on funding options and welfare benefits available to support their needs.
- Liaising with partner organisations regarding safeguarding, wellbeing and support requirements.
- Supporting the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused service that promotes independent living.

What you will need
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust and explain information clearly.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload.
- Experience supporting customers in a professional or voluntary capacity.
- A compassionate and customer-focused approach, particularly when working with people who have disabilities or support needs.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and maintaining accurate electronic records.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners.
- An understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding responsibilities.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use.
- A willingness to learn, develop and adapt to the needs of the service
This is a full time, permanent role working 35 hours a week Monday-Friday covering the West Kent area. The office base is the historical Chatham Dockyards at Fitted Rigging House.
