Responsibilities
- Supporting the MSPs’ work on behalf of constituents, including communications via e-mail, letter, phone, online and in-person meetings
- Responding to enquiries from constituents and stakeholders, including both routine and complex cases
- Drafting letters and other documents, including parliamentary questions
- Prioritising incoming correspondence and preparing replies
- Maintaining records on current and previous casework
- Liaising with officials and politicians from public bodies, local Councils, Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government
- Compliance with requirements such as data protection
- With the rest of the team, helping to manage the MSPs’ inboxes and diaries, and providing support for meetings
- Working with other staff members in Edinburgh and Lothians East region to ensure that administrative, research and other tasks are undertaken across the group

Requirements
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have excellent written, verbal and IT skills with accurate attention to detail.
- Experience of working with the public, working in a busy environment, working to deadlines and cooperating across a team
- An understanding of the Scottish Parliament and the political climate of Scotland and Edinburgh & Lothians East
- An ability to build and sustain positive working relationships
- A strong group ethos, and a willingness to share workload across the team when necessary
- Ability to support Kayleigh in delivering their parliamentary aims and values

Interviews are provisionally for week beginning 24th August.
MSPs are employers in their own right. All MSP staff are required to be security vetted in line with HM Government (HMG) Personnel Security Controls and any employment cannot begin until security clearance has been granted. MSPs will also carry out other pre-employment checks including eligibility to work in the UK, and employment references where applicable.
