The Role
You will support people in need by assessing casework applications efficiently, allocating awarded funds in line with donor aims/fund criteria, and ensuring decisions are transparent and well managed. The role also involves identifying and applying to relevant organisations and individuals for additional support. It requires someone who is strategic, logical, process-driven and solution-focused, with strong empathy and emotional intelligence.
Primary Objectives
- To support the strategic aims of the charity and the Chief Executive Officer.
- Partner and collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to research and source in-house and external funds to ensure good diversification of funds and geographical reach.
- Ensure alignment of casework with the charity's mission, vision, and values.
- To meet specific fund targets agreed by the Senior Leadership Team.

About You
The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and ability:
- Proven experience in the charity, not-for-profit sector, within either the social care, social services, health care, education, welfare benefits, criminal justice or community development setting.
- Knowledge of the various welfare benefits available to individuals and families.
- Ability to empathise with clients to communicate sensitively with individuals (applicants) who are often vulnerable and experiencing difficult situations and challenges, demonstrating active listening and emotional intelligence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to represent Charity Link externally, liaising effectively with a range of individuals and agencies in private, public, voluntary sectors and governmental departments.
- Ability to make decisions, multi-task and prioritise effectively, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to achieve targets, work to tight deadlines and within strict guidelines.
- Ability to write accurately and to concisely produce written reports.
- Excellent presentation/communication skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to research, analyse data and translate vision into actionable plans.
- Excellent standard of IT including Microsoft Office.
- Self-motivated, proactive and solutions-focused individual.
- A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion within the workplace and the ability to work flexibly.
- Full driving licence, access to own transport and willingness to travel regionally.
