The Senedd is the Welsh Parliament, representing the people of Wales and working to improve their daily lives. It makes decisions on key areas such as health, education, and the economy, shaping public policy across the country. The Senedd also holds the Welsh Government to account, ensuring transparency and responsible use of public resources. Staff members support elected representatives in delivering effective services to the public and engaging with communities across Wales.
Role Description
The Caseworker is a full-time, on-site role based in Bangor, supporting a Member of the Senedd in handling issues raised by constituents. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Receiving and responding to constituent enquiries in person, by phone, and in writing
- Gathering information
- Drafting clear and accurate correspondence
The Caseworker will:
- Research local and national issues
- Liaise with public bodies and other organizations
- Follow up on ongoing cases to ensure timely resolution

- Maintaining confidential records
- Preparing briefings
- Supporting community engagement activities, such as meetings and events in the constituency office and local area
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, accurate correspondence and explain complex information in accessible language.
- Proven experience in case management or customer service, including handling sensitive information and maintaining detailed records.
- Research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather information from multiple sources, interpret policy or guidance, and present findings concisely.
- Interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Competence with IT tools such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, and case management or CRM systems.
- Understanding of, or interest in, Welsh politics, public services, and the role of the Senedd; knowledge of local issues in Bangor is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in an on-site office environment, demonstrating discretion and sound judgment.
- Welsh language skills (spoken and written) are highly beneficial; willingness to develop language skills where needed is welcomed.
- Relevant experience in public sector, legal, social work, advocacy, or community engagement settings is an asset; appropriate training or education in a related field is desirable.
