Cash and Bank Specialist

Salary: £30,000
Location: Trafford Park

What you'll do

As Cash and Bank Specialist, you'll immerse yourself in the day-to-day operations of a dynamic finance department. Your responsibilities include:

  • Processing payments (transfers, BACS, Faster Payments) across multiple banking platforms with high accuracy.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations across group company accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Managing company credit card reconciliations and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Overseeing Direct Debit collections, monitoring failed payments, and liaising with teams and customers.
  • Administering financial controls and compliance in line with established procedures.
  • Preparing internal reports for cash forecasting, daily receipts, and management information.
  • Supporting annual audits by preparing accurate transaction records.
  • Using in-house systems including Spanner, Open Accounts, and Rimilia.
  • Responding to internal and external queries with excellent customer service.
  • Processing rebates, refunds, write-offs, and writebacks against departmental KPIs.
  • Assisting with month-end journals and accruals.
  • Providing additional support across the Finance & Banking Team as needed.

What you bring

The ideal candidate has proven experience from cash management or shared service environments. You're comfortable in high-volume transactional settings and bring:

  • Minimum two years' experience in cash management or a Shared Service function.
  • Proven expertise in bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
  • Experience working in high-volume environments with precision under pressure.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and IT competence to identify trends and resolve issues quickly.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, building trusted relationships.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • A focused, goal-oriented approach without compromising quality or accuracy.
  • A proactive, self-starter attitude with enthusiasm for tackling new challenges.
