Cash Flow Operator (FTC 3-6 months)
Location: Swindon Support Centre (hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office)
We are focused on building a sustainable and successful future for the business while continuing to deliver a consistent and valued retail offer. This role offers the opportunity to develop your career within a well-established organisation, contribute to ongoing improvement, and play a part in shaping the next chapter of TGJones.
About the role
The Cash Flow Operator is responsible for managing short- and medium-term liquidity, lender reporting, borrowing base compliance, and cash optimisation across the business. The role acts as a key link between treasury, operations, suppliers, and external lenders, ensuring robust cash forecasting, effective working capital management, and ongoing covenant compliance.
This role combines elements of Treasury Management, Cash Flow Forecasting, Working Capital Management, and Financial Analysis, providing critical support to liquidity management, lender compliance, and strategic decision-making within the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead the preparation and submission of weekly 13-week cash flow forecasts to senior lenders, including variance commentary, covenant compliance certificates, and liquidity bridge analysis, ensuring all submissions are accurate, timely, and clearly narrated
- Manage daily and weekly cash positioning across multiple bank accounts and trust structures, including RCF utilisation requests, drawdown mechanics, transfer management, and covenant headroom monitoring against minimum liquidity thresholds
- Support with analysis relating to supplier payment arrangements and optimise payment phasing to maximise liquidity while maintaining critical supplier relationships
- Prepare and maintain the weekly collateral certificate, including gross stock valuation, AP balance updates, PAYE/VAT reporting, and availability calculations, liaising with payroll, operations, and legal teams (ROT status) to ensure inputs are accurate and submitted within lender deadlines
- Build and maintain financial models to support COO decision-making, including daily RCF headroom analysis, optimal payment day identification, supplier phasing comparisons, and sensitivity analysis around restructuring events
- Support the wider TG Jones operating team and management with ad hoc financial analysis, lender queries, and internal reporting, translating complex cash flow mechanics into clear, accessible commentary for both internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Develop and maintain forward-looking headroom forecasts incorporating stock inflow and outflow projections, modelling the impact of inventory movements on collateral values and available facility headroom. Provide the business with visibility of future covenant compliance and identify risks where stock run-down or payment holds may compress the borrowing base ahead of key dates

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
