JOB PURPOSE

We are hiring a Cash Office Accounting Assistant to join Burberry’s Order to Cash team within our Business Services organisation in Leeds. You will help maintain the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations through cash allocation, account reconciliation and effective control of transactions across multiple currencies. Working with colleagues and external partners, you will resolve outstanding items and support timely period-end activity. You will also have the opportunity to identify practical improvements and help shape more efficient ways of working.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process cash allocations accurately and maintain complete transaction records within SAP.
  • Reconcile bank and control accounts daily, matching cash and card transactions across multiple accounts and currencies.
  • Manage third-party file uploads and communicate with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies.
  • Reconcile and replenish Burberry gift vouchers each week, investigating and addressing outstanding items.
  • Prepare month-end bank and control account reconciliations, upload completed reconciliations to Cadency and process intercompany activity accurately.
  • Support wider Cash Office priorities, identify opportunities for process improvement and provide additional cover during selected weekends or public holidays at half-year and year-end.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Experience in a finance operations, transactional accounting or cash office environment, with an understanding of reconciliations and financial controls.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to analyse information, investigate differences and reach accurate conclusions.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel, alongside experience with SAP or another relevant enterprise finance system.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across finance and non-finance teams.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a willingness to seek feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • The ability to organise priorities, work with appropriate autonomy and deliver accurate work within agreed deadlines.
