The Cashier role at Blue Yonder is a full-time, on-site position based in Crawley. In this role, the cashier accurately processes customer transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. The cashier greets customers, answers basic product or service questions, and provides courteous, efficient service at the point of sale.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Handling cash and electronic payments
- Balancing the cash drawer
- Issuing receipts
- Following policies to prevent loss and ensure data security
- Supporting a clean, organized checkout area
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors
- Following all company procedures related to safety, compliance, and customer experience
Qualifications
- Strong cash-handling and point-of-sale (POS) system skills, with the ability to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a professional, friendly approach to resolving customer questions or issues.
- Basic numeracy, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities to manage discrepancies, returns, and sales adjustments.
- Ability to work on-site in Crawley, stand for extended periods, and complete repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of focus.
- Experience in retail, hospitality, or a similar cashier or front-of-house role is beneficial.
- Reliability, integrity, and adherence to company policies related to data protection, loss prevention, and safe working practices.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends or evenings, as required by business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not strictly required when offset by relevant experience.
