Casting Director / Casting Associate — Client Project

Aru Labs | Project-based opportunity

Aru Labs is looking for a Casting Director / Casting Associate for an upcoming independent web-series project being produced for a client.

This is a project-based opportunity, not a permanent position at Aru Labs.

The series is a character-driven story exploring startups, ambition, relationships, friendship, money and life.

We're looking for someone who can help us discover interesting, authentic and memorable talent from India and around the world.

What you'll do

  • Work closely with the Director to understand the characters and creative vision
  • Develop casting requirements for the main and supporting characters
  • Source actors, models, creators and fresh faces
  • Conduct casting research across India and international markets
  • Reach out to talent agencies, acting communities, creator networks and independent talent
  • Review profiles, reels, photographs and previous work
  • Organize auditions and self-tapes
  • Coordinate auditions with the Director
  • Maintain casting databases and talent shortlists
  • Help arrange callbacks and chemistry reads
  • Coordinate talent availability and travel requirements
  • Assist with final casting decisions and offer coordination

Who we're looking for

We're open to someone with experience in:

  • Film / web-series casting
  • Advertising casting
  • Talent management
  • Acting / theatre communities
  • Creator and influencer talent discovery
  • Modeling agencies
  • Independent filmmaking

You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional film casting background.

If you have a strong eye for people and know how to discover interesting talent, we'd like to hear from you.

We're particularly interested in people who feel natural, contemporary and believable on camera.

Where we're casting

We are open to talent globally, including:

  • India: Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Hyderabad and other cities
  • International: San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London, Bali and other global creative and startup hubs.

Final shooting locations will depend on the production and casting requirements.

Working arrangement

  • Remote: Yes
  • Travel: Required during production where applicable
  • Engagement: Project-based / contract
  • Production window: Late November – early December
