About The Role
This temporary Casual Caretaker role in Henley-On-Thames runs for two to five months, paying up to £13.05 hourly. Working Monday to Thursday, 11:30am until 6:30pm, plus a shorter Friday shift, the post-holder supports a facilities team by keeping buildings clean, safe and presentable. Duties typically cover minor repairs, security checks, waste removal and setting up rooms for events. Applicants should be practical, dependable and comfortable working unsupervised. An enhanced DBS certificate is essential, and free on-site parking is provided. Immediate availability is preferred for this assignment.

Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour
Hours: 11:30am - 6:30pm
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday (7.5 hours per day) and Friday (7 hours per day)
Start Date: As early as next week
Parking: Free parking available on site
Compliance: Enhanced DBS check required
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative facilities team, you will help maintain the smooth day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring high standards of maintenance, cleanliness, security, and health and safety are upheld at all times.
This role would suit someone with a practical mindset, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the flexibility to support site operations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general caretaking, maintenance, and site management duties as directed by the Facilities Manager.
- Support the opening and closing of the site, including alarm activation and deactivation on a rota basis.
- Respond to site-related issues raised by staff and assist with resolving maintenance concerns.
- Monitor and report health and safety issues across the site.
- Complete required monitoring records for site systems and installations.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all site users.
- Undertake general upkeep, maintenance, and minor repairs as required.
- Work collaboratively within the caretaking team while also demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.

What We're Looking For
- Practical, hands-on approach to maintenance and caretaking duties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible attitude.
- Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner.
- Previous caretaking, facilities, maintenance, site assistant, handyman, or estates experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
