The Venue
The stunning Grade II listed Sheffield City Hall has been delivering exhilarating events to Sheffield and Yorkshire since the 1930s. Described as a “shrine to rock and roll” by legendary rock impresario Harvey Goldsmith the venue's ethos is ‘the show must go on’! The City Hall delivers over 500 entertainment and business events each year and has earned an award-winning reputation for hosting some of the country’s most esteemed business and conferencing events.
The Role
We're looking for talented and reliable Chefs to join our culinary team at Sheffield City Hall, one of the city's most iconic live entertainment venues. You'll support a variety of events, from concerts, comedy shows and conferences to banquets, receptions and hospitality experiences, delivering high-quality food with consistency, creativity, and professionalism.
The Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality dishes with consistency and attention to detail.
- Support food service across a range of events, including hospitality functions, conferences, banquets, and live entertainment events.
- Contribute creative ideas to menu development and seasonal offerings.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to deliver excellent guest experiences.
- Assist with stock management and the preparation of ingredients for upcoming events.

What we're looking for
- Previous chef experience in restaurants, hotels, catering, hospitality, or event environments.
- Passion for food, strong cooking skills, and the ability to perform under pressure during busy services.
- A positive, adaptable, and team-oriented attitude.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event days.
- Experience supporting a variety of dining styles, from casual service to banqueting and hospitality, is advantageous.
- Culinary qualifications are a plus, but your talent, enthusiasm, and attitude matter most.

1st Stage - Interview at the venue with our Head Chef
Any offer will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. These may include verification of identity, proof of address, right to work, employment history, qualifications, and—where relevant to the role—a basic or enhanced DBS check.
