Six Casual Electoral Registration Canvassers are being sought for a four-week period starting Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 18 October 2026.
About the Role
The Electoral Services Team is looking to recruit enthusiastic, dynamic, and flexible individuals to assist the Electoral Registration Officer with the annual canvass. Canvassers are employed to make personal visits to properties where the occupants have not responded to previous contact efforts.
Responsibilities
- Plan routes and visit allocated properties at an appropriate time.
- The role does not have fixed hours and can be performed at evenings or weekends around other commitments, although visits to properties can only be made during reasonable hours and not after dark.
- Walk long distances between properties and occasionally navigate stairwells, while carrying equipment or forms.
- Regularly report your location using the Jontek Lone Worker System, requiring a mobile phone.

Requirements
- Ability to commit to working between 30 and 70 hours from Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 18 October 2026.
- Previous experience with door knocking or canvassing work is preferred.
- Experience in delivering excellent customer service.

- Are you able to commit to working between 30 and 70 hours from Wednesday 16 September to Sunday 18 October 2026? Please also indicate approximately how many hours you can commit to so we can allocate an appropriate workload.
- It is expected that canvassers will walk long distances between properties and occasionally navigate stairwells, whilst carrying equipment or forms. Do you feel you are able to meet this requirement for the duration of the role?
- Briefly describe experience you have in delivering excellent customer service. Please also include a contact phone number.
- We will be holding interviews on Thursday 3 September (but could consider another date). Please indicate whether you would prefer a phone call or a MS Teams meeting. We will arrange interview times with you closer to the date.

Training
You will be required to attend a training session at 11am-12.30pm on Wednesday 16 September at the Guildhall, High Street, Worcester, WR1 2EY.
