Job Title: Casual Female Football Development Coach

Location: Various locations across Burnley and Pendle

Salary: NMW

Contract Type: Casual/Zero Hours

Working Pattern: 7:30 PM to 9 PM (Mon & Weds)

About the Role:

The purpose of this role is to support the development of players within the Burnley FC Women Junior U16s team through the planning and delivery of high-quality coaching sessions twice per week and delivery of matchday games on Sundays. The role will also contribute to the wider female football development pathway, helping to create positive learning environments and supporting the progression of female players across the programme.

Key Responsibilities:

Session Delivery & Player Development

  • Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality coaching sessions for the BFC Women Junior U16s team, ensuring a safe, engaging and challenging learning environment.
  • Deliver the club's player development curriculum, providing appropriate stretch and challenge opportunities that support individual player growth and progression.
  • Engage, inspire and empower female players to maximise their potential, fostering confidence, resilience and a positive attitude towards learning and development.
  • Develop, implement and regularly review Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players, tailoring coaching practices and learning experiences to support their individual goals and objectives.
  • Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to support ongoing technical, tactical, physical and psychosocial development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that reflects the values of Burnley FC in the Community and promotes player welfare, enjoyment and long-term development.
  • Work collaboratively with other coaches, support staff and parents to ensure players receive a consistent and high-quality development experience.
  • Maintain accurate coaching records, session plans and player development information in line with club and safeguarding requirements.
  • Attend fixtures, tournaments, coach education opportunities and club meetings as required to support the ongoing development of players and the programme.

Talent Identification & Pathway Development

  • Identify talented female footballers and participants within the projects, referring them to the appropriate level within the female football pathway.
  • Ensure consistency of standards across all female football initiatives.

General

  • To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
  • To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires. You may be required to work the occasional match day which may fall on a weekend or evening.
  • To work towards agreed objectives.
  • Comply with all Charity policies.
  • Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong, and positive manner.
  • Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
  • Hold a commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
  • Willingness to attend training courses to enhance own professional development.

About You:

To be successful within this role, you will have:

  • UEFA B Coaching Licence (or equivalent recognised coaching qualification)
  • Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Valid FA Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) Qualification
  • FA Talent Identification Level 1 Qualification
  • Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating age-appropriate football coaching sessions for youth players within a player-centred development environment.
  • Experience of supporting the technical, tactical, physical and psychosocial development of female footballers.
  • Experience of creating positive, inclusive and engaging learning environments that promote player welfare, enjoyment and long-term development.
  • Experience of monitoring and reviewing player performance, providing constructive feedback, and contributing to individual player development plans.
