Casual Food & Beverage Supervisor
Application deadline: 10am Monday 10 August 2026
Contract Casual
Salary £13.30 per hour
Leeds Playhouse are recruiting for a new casual Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team.
Alongside the other frontline teams (Front of House, Security and Box Office) the Food & Beverage team plays a pivotal role as the public face of the theatre, welcoming audiences and visitors and delivering a first-class customer experience, whilst still ensuring service is fast enough to allow people to enjoy their visit in time before seeing a show. The team efficiently operates the Playhouse Bar, Terrace Bar, Playhouse Kitchen and Front Room Café, proactively maximising sales, especially during periods of great time pressure.
Food & Beverage Supervisors are required to cover all aspects of Food & Beverage service delivery in each of the areas of operation. The Supervisor may oversee more than one area at a time depending on business levels, and will have oversight of a staff group made up of several team members.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
