We are currently recruiting for a Casual Front of House Manager to join our team at one of our Colleges in Oxford OX1 3LZ.

This is a zero-hour contract working on a rota basis, as needed.

Wilson Vale is an established, quality-led contract caterer. We work with amazing clients across the UK who place huge value on great food as a key part of their culture and community. We work in office restaurants, independent schools, and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

We are a fresh, food-led operation open seven days a week, welcoming an average of 200 guests daily, in addition to providing hospitality services. We take great pride in the high quality of our offering, which includes daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner services featuring buffets, a salad bar, a grab-and-go section, and freshly baked goods. We also provide daily specials and host fine dining dinners, special events, and themed social gatherings.

Role Overview

You’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of front of house operations on a flexible, casual basis, helping to deliver an excellent guest experience during busy service periods and events. You’ll be responsible for overseeing service areas during shifts, supporting the wider FOH team, assisting guests, and ensuring all public areas are clean, organised, and well-presented. You may also support food and beverage service and carry out additional duties as required by the management team.


Key Responsibilities

As our Casual Front of House Manager, you will:

  • Support the day-to-day running of front of house operations during assigned shifts
  • Lead by example and assist the FOH team to maintain high service standards
  • Have flexibility to work both front and back of house when required
  • Ideally have supervisory or management experience within a hospitality or customer service environment
  • Have strong experience in a customer-focused role
  • Maintain a professional, approachable, and reliable manner at all times
  • Ensure the presentation and cleanliness of servery and guest areas are maintained throughout service
  • Assist in handling guest queries and resolving issues professionally
  • Be confident working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing business needs
  • Carry out additional ad-hoc duties as assigned by the management team
