As a Casual Independent Living Assistant you will be delivering flexible packages of care to older people within Charles Clore Court Extra Care Housing site, alongside the discharge to assess service.
We are an integrated Health & Social Care team with responsibility for complex patients requiring discharge from a hospital bed. We offer a dual service – domiciliary care and discharge to assess service for our users. We undertake assessments to determine the level of support and care a person requires. Under the discharge to assess model we offer assessment, rehabilitation, reablement and treatment in the community.

A variety of shifts are available including mornings beginning at 7.00am, evenings finishing at 10.00pm, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
We are based at Charles Clore Court, 139 Appleford Road, Reading in the heart of Southcote Reading, with excellent transport routes.

We provide everyone referred to us with a personal assessment. Delivering high quality personalised support to help the transition from hospital to a person’s own home or an assessed, approved care place. Involving our service users, their families and carers in choosing the support we offer.
Working closely with colleagues in health and social care at all stages to deliver a seamless, personalised service from hospital to their selected destination. We also provide a domiciliary care service to those who hold tenancies within the building in the form of structured packages of care.
Previous experience in working with older people or in care setting is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. NVQ level 2 or equivalent or a current care certificate with tracking number is desirable however on completion of successful probationary period, QCF Qualification will be offered.
