Kitchen Porter
The Queen's Club is a world-renowned private Members rackets club in south west London. Host to the international annual HSBC Championships, the Club is complemented by a refurbished Club House Restaurant along with private rooms for hospitality.
Behind every great kitchen is a great Kitchen Porter. We're seeking someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a team, and understands the important role they play in keeping a busy kitchen running smoothly.
At The Queen's Club, you'll be part of a supportive team delivering outstanding hospitality in one of London's most iconic sporting venues.
Key Responsibilities
Food production:
- Clean allocated areas and equipment (kitchen, back of house, and other Club areas) according to the cleaning schedule, maintaining safety standards while working.
- Clean other areas across the Club as requested by the Head Chef.
- Follow daily opening and closing procedures within the kitchen.
- Assist with basic food preparation as directed, ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times and food waste is minimized.
- Ensure the safe and hygienic disposal of waste.
- Assist with food/general store deliveries and storage as directed by the Sous Chef/Head Chef.
- Collect and transport goods required from stores, tall kitchen/food service areas as required, including the Buttery and Junior Club.
- Deliver summer tournament activities as directed by the Head Chef.
- Assist with the moving and storing of items across the Club, including catering and function furniture and general Club-wide deliveries.
- Maintain an up-to-date daily understanding of catering and function requirements.
- Follow security procedures across all kitchen areas and stores to prevent theft or loss of kitchen equipment and food.

Health & Safety; Food Hygiene and Safeguarding and Child Protection:
- Work within the statutory and internal health, safety, and food hygiene requirements generally. Report any issues of maintenance and health and safety within the kitchen or as seen across the Club to the Sous Chef/Head Chef and take prompt personal action to resolve/stop any hazardous/dangerous occurrences.
- Store and use all chemicals and cleaning products according to instructions, adhering to the Club COSHH standards at all times.
- Follow The Queen's Club safeguarding policy and procedures at all times; be vigilant on all matters of child and adults at risk protection.
- Work safely at all times, adhering to Manual Handling Regulations.

General Requirements:
- Make suggestions and recommend any improvements to the Head Chef.
- Help control costs wherever possible.
- Assist in the training of casual and agency kitchen porter workers as required.
- Assist your colleagues at all times and when asked by the Head Chef.
- Attend internal meetings as required.
- Conduct all aspects of your work and behavior in line with the values of The Queen's Club.
