Casual Programme Worker (STEM Education & Youth Engagement)
EDT (Engineering Development Trust) | Casual / Sessional Opportunities
- North East England (Newcastle, Tyne & Wear, Northumberland and surrounding areas)
- £122 per day (£15.25 per hour) plus holiday pay
- Travel expenses reimbursed
- Flexible work during school term time, school holidays and occasional residential programmes

EDT (Engineering Development Trust) is one of the UK's leading STEM education charities, inspiring young people to develop the skills, confidence and aspirations needed to succeed in the world of work.
We are expanding our pool of Casual Programme Workers across the North East to help deliver innovative STEM education programmes, workshops, events and residential experiences for young people aged 9-18.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering interactive STEM workshops and educational activities
- Facilitating group discussions and team-based challenges
- Leading and motivating groups of young people in a safe and engaging environment
- Providing pastoral support and promoting positive participation
- Supporting safeguarding, welfare and health & safety requirements
- Assisting with programme logistics, registration and event administration
- Building positive relationships with schools, students, industry volunteers and partners
- Supporting face-to-face, virtual and residential programmes
What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:
- Experience working with children and young people
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence facilitating group activities or workshops
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- A professional, positive and proactive approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- An interest in STEM, education, employability or youth development

Essential Requirements
- Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to travel within the region
- Availability for occasional overnight stays and residential programmes
