We have an exciting opportunity for a Casual Public Area Cleaner to join our Housekeeping team at DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central.
As a busy 304-bedroom city-centre hotel with extensive conference and event facilities, our public areas can be fast-paced and high-volume. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining excellent standards and understands the importance of creating a clean, welcoming environment for every guest.
The Person
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous cleaning experience, ideally within a hotel or similarly busy environment
- Excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to cleanliness
- The ability to manage several tasks and remain calm under pressure
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- The confidence to work independently and manage an allocated workload
- A reliable, flexible and positive approach to work
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends

The Role
As a Public Area Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the hotel’s guest-facing and back-of-house areas.
Your Duties Will Include
- Cleaning and maintaining the hotel lobby, corridors, stairwells, lifts, public toilets and back-of-house areas
- Regularly checking high-traffic areas and responding quickly to any cleaning requirements
- Vacuuming corridors, stairways and other carpeted areas
- Completing scheduled deep-cleaning tasks
- Cleaning, sanitising and replenishing public toilets throughout your shift
- Ensuring all cleaning standards are completed in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements
- Reporting maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns promptly
- Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly
- Assisting the wider Housekeeping team when required, including supporting with bedroom cleaning during evening shifts
- Helping to ensure the hotel remains clean, presentable and welcoming during busy conferences, events and peak periods
