Casual Receptionist

Location: Braywick Leisure Centre

Contract: Casual

Salary: Up to £12.71 per hour

We’re looking for a Receptionist to join the Leisure Focus team and play an important role in creating a welcoming and positive experience for our customers.

Job Purpose

To provide a welcoming, efficient and professional reception service to all visitors, members, and staff at the leisure centre, ensuring smooth day-to-day front-of-house operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide excellent customer service at all times
  • Handle enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email, providing accurate information about facilities, classes, memberships, and bookings
  • Process memberships, bookings, payments, and cancellations using the centre’s booking system
  • Manage the reception desk, ensuring it is tidy, organised, and well-stocked with information leaflets
  • Deal with customer queries, complaints, and issues promptly and professionally, escalating when necessary
  • Support the daily opening and closing procedures of the reception area
  • Maintain accurate records of transactions, bookings, and customer interactions
  • Promote leisure centre services, activities, and events to customers
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety procedures and report any concerns
  • Work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required

Person Specification

Essential

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
  • Basic IT skills and ability to learn booking systems
  • Ability to work well in a busy environment
  • Reliability and punctuality

Additional Information

  • This is a casual role with variable hours depending on business needs
  • Training will be provided on systems and procedures
  • Uniform may be required depending on the centre
