I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We aim to support these vulnerable children so that their social, emotional, intellectual, cultural and physical needs are met, and they are given the opportunity to reach their full potential. Successful candidates must demonstrate an ability to build effective working relationships with children, show good teamwork skills, communication skills and record keeping.

  • They will also need to be able to work with other agencies such as education, social workers and health professionals in promoting the needs of the young people.
  • CRCCWs also support children with transition to future placements.

The hours of work will include weekends, evenings and, on occasion, an overnight sleep-in duty for which a sleep-in allowance will be paid. Our shift patterns are usually mornings 7am-11am or 3pm and, evenings 2pm – 10pm.
