Description

Davies Group is a specialist professional services and technology firm working in partnership with leading insurance, highly regulated and global businesses. Our team of professionals operate across the UK and Ireland, US, Bermuda and Canada.

This team is responsible for handling liability claims on behalf of various public sector clients. Your role will be to provide a quality, proactive, cradle-to-grave claims service on behalf of these clients and in accordance with the insurer’s claims handling philosophy.

You'll have experience in handling any type of injury claims. Experience of working in an insurance and or legal environment would be expected.

What will your day look like:

  • Establish if cover is in place for the claim
  • Record all claims on the digital claims handling system
  • Investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters
  • Make the decision on liability
  • Negotiate settlement of the claim
  • Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs
  • Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders
  • Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market
  • Knowledge of how to value an injury claim
  • Knowledge of reserving philosophies
  • Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal
  • Good communications skills at all levels
  • Excellent customer service
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Take responsibility for your own workload
  • Must be able demonstrate adaptability and flexibility
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills
