Casualty Claims Handler – Public Sector

Salary - up to £50,000

Surrey/ Hybrid

We are delighted to be representing one of the world’s largest global insurance brokerages, who are seeking an experienced Casualty Claims Handler to join their growing Public Sector team in Surrey.

If not already a Public Sector claims expert you soon can be as ongoing training will be provided. Based within the MGA function, you will manage claims on behalf of a diverse range of government and public sector organisations, including police forces, local authorities, environmental agencies, and other public bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 100-150 complex Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims from notification through to settlement.
  • Handle multi-track and catastrophic injury claims, including high-value and litigated matters.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with public sector clients and key stakeholders.
  • Review and interpret policy wordings, legal documents, and claims information.
  • Analyse claims data and produce meaningful insights using Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, solicitors, loss adjusters, and external partners.
  • Attend client meetings and industry networking events as required.

Experience Required:

  • Strong technical experience handling Employers’ Liability and Public Liability claims.
  • Experience managing complex, litigated, multi-track, or catastrophic injury claims.
  • Background gained within an insurer, MGA, TPA, loss adjusting firm, legal practice, or public sector claims environment.
  • Public sector claims experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence using Excel and interpreting claims data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Professional, articulate, and confident when engaging with clients and stakeholders.
