Job Title: Senior Casualty Facultative Reinsurance Broker
Salary: Competitive + discretionary bonus (DOE)
Location: London
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
A reputable Lloyd’s broker is looking to appoint a Senior Casualty Facultative Reinsurance Broker to join its facultative team in London. The business has an established and growing casualty facultative book, placing General Liability, Excess/Umbrella, Products and other casualty exposures into the London and Lloyd’s markets on behalf of a broad panel of cedents.
This is a genuine opportunity for an experienced facultative broker to take ownership of a senior portfolio, deepen relationships across the reinsurer market, and play a leading role in the continued growth of the casualty facultative offering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Place casualty facultative reinsurance business (General Liability, Excess/Umbrella, Products and related classes) into the London and Lloyd’s markets on behalf of cedent clients.
- Own and develop a portfolio of cedent relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on placement strategy and market positioning.
- Negotiate terms, pricing and coverage with reinsurers to secure optimal outcomes for clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters across the Lloyd’s and company markets.
- Identify and convert new business opportunities to grow the casualty facultative book.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring and support to junior brokers within the team.
- Keep abreast of market trends, capacity movements and emerging casualty exposures to inform placement strategy.
- Ensure all placements are conducted in line with regulatory requirements and internal compliance standards.

SKILLS
- Significant experience as a facultative reinsurance broker, with a strong focus on casualty classes, gained in the London or Lloyd’s market.
- Well-established relationships with casualty reinsurers and underwriters across the Lloyd’s and company markets.
- Strong technical knowledge of casualty facultative placements, wordings and pricing structures.
- Proven track record of new business development and portfolio growth.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy at a senior level, with the credibility to mentor junior colleagues.
- Professional insurance qualifications (e.g. ACII, or working towards) desirable but not essential.
- Degree educated or equivalent industry experience.
