If you're working in Casualty Treaty, there's a good chance you've asked yourself one of these questions…
- When will I get more ownership?
- When will I build my own broker relationships?
- When will I have the opportunity to develop my own portfolio?
This role has the answer to all of those questions
You'll be joining a well-established reinsurance business, working alongside one of the market's most respected Casualty Treaty Underwriters. Rather than simply supporting someone else's portfolio, you'll become an integral part of a small team where your contribution is visible, valued, and where your development is genuinely part of the long-term plan.
Motor Treaty experience would be particularly valuable. Perhaps it's an area you've worked in previously and would like to get back into. Or maybe you've always wanted greater exposure to Motor alongside your Casualty experience. Either way, you'll have the opportunity to develop your expertise while helping to build and grow the portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

To be successful, you'll probably already be working within:
- Casualty Treaty Underwriting
- Motor Treaty Underwriting
- Treaty Broking with strong Casualty exposure
- An Assistant Underwriter or Underwriter looking for greater responsibility
