Company Description
The Mersey Rivers Trust is a charitable organization dedicated to improving local rivers and waterways for both people and wildlife. As part of the national Rivers Trust movement, it serves as the Rivers Trust for the River Mersey and its wider catchment area. The Trust works collaboratively with communities, public bodies, businesses, and other stakeholders to restore and protect waterways. Its projects focus on sustainable river management, habitat enhancement, and increasing public engagement with local waterways. Team members contribute to initiatives that have direct environmental and social impact across the Mersey catchment.

Role Description
The Catchment Partnership Manager is a full-time, home-based role with travel across the Mersey catchment. This role is responsible for coordinating and leading catchment-based partnerships, bringing together stakeholders to improve river health and water quality across the Mersey catchment. Day-to-day tasks include managing relationships with partner organizations, facilitating meetings and workshops, and developing collaborative action plans. The manager will oversee project delivery, monitor progress against objectives, and report on outcomes to funders and partners. The role also involves gathering and analysing environmental and project data, preparing clear written communications and presentations, and supporting community engagement activities to promote sustainable river management.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in coordinating environmental partnerships or multi-stakeholder programmes, including local authorities, NGOs, landowners, volunteers or government agencies.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering complex workplans with measurable outputs.
- Experience producing high-quality written reports and evidence for external audiences.
