The Role
In this role you will be supporting the Category Manager in delivery of category growth plans to internal and external customer teams. You will use multiple data sources on a daily basis, including retailer data platforms and Numerator, and will be required to keep a close eye on market and store activity to help the team keep on top of trends, market dynamics and uncover opportunities for Greencore and Customer growth.
The types of projects you will be working on include customer range reviews, sales performance analysis, market share trends, general consumer and shopper trend analysis and insight generation to support new product development.

You will work alongside fellow analysts and category teams, as well as with commercial and food development teams. You should be able to work independently to proactively manage deadlines and stakeholder expectations, but should enjoy working as part of a team, as we all work together for the common goals of driving our customer and Greencore growth agendas.
Responsibilities
- Download and manipulate data from retailer and market data systems using Excel.
- Analyse and interpret meaning from the data.
- Collect information on ranges and prices by visiting stores, and using online sources. Keep team members updated on new product launches and help update internal data systems accordingly.
- Respond to ad hoc queries and analysis requests from internal and external customers.
- Create PowerPoint slides using market and sales information. Ability to visualise data is key.
- Project management of activation initiatives, working with internal and third party teams, to ensure project objectives and timelines are aligned and adhered to.
- Manage internal processes such as raising and tracking purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely financial management.
Ideal Candidate
It is essential that you can demonstrate a passion for food retail and commercial awareness.
Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate with fellow team members and stakeholders.
- You will have excellent planning and organisation skills, able to manage multiple projects at the same time working independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude.
- A good knowledge of the UK retail market, and commercial reasoning is desirable.
- You must be confident to take personal accountability for delivery of your set tasks and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Must have full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

The role does offer hybrid working, however, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to a Greencore site to work at least weekly, and visit our customers stores on a regular basis.
