Category Buyer

18 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Market Drayton or Telford
Days: Monday to Friday

At Müller, we're committed to delivering high-quality products enjoyed by millions of consumers across the UK. We are looking for an experienced Category Buyer to join our Indirect Procurement team on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across the business, managing indirect spend categories, driving sourcing initiatives, and delivering commercial value through effective procurement strategies and supplier management.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing day-to-day indirect procurement requirements in line with Procure-to-Pay and Source-to-Contract processes.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of category and procurement strategies.
  • Conducting market analysis to identify opportunities, risks and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Leading sourcing activities, supplier tenders and commercial negotiations.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and procurement needs.
  • Ensuring procurement policies, processes and spend compliance requirements are followed.
  • Maintaining supplier, contract and procurement records.
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities to create value and improve commercial outcomes for the business.

What you'll need

  • Previous experience within Indirect Procurement.
  • Experience of Marketing spend categories would be advantageous.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using SAP MM; SAP Ariba experience would be advantageous.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders where appropriate.

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional with a strong understanding of procurement processes and a proven ability to deliver results through effective stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration. You'll be commercially aware, able to identify opportunities to add value, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
