£42,000-£48,000 + bonus + double pension + benefits
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business in a Category Buyer role focused on indirect procurement.
The business is strengthening its procurement function and investing in capability at Buyer level. This creates a strong opportunity for someone who wants more ownership, better category exposure and a route towards broader Category Management.
You’ll support sourcing activity across defined indirect spend areas, working closely with procurement colleagues, internal stakeholders and suppliers. The role will involve RFx activity, supplier engagement, simple to medium-complexity agreements, performance reporting, commercial analysis and day-to-day sourcing follow-through.
Category scope can be shaped around experience, with particular interest in areas such as marketing, brand, HR, professional services or IT.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
