Category Buyer

Location: Warrington (3 days per week in the office)

The Opportunity

We're looking for an ambitious and proactive Category Buyer to support procurement and category management activities across a range of spend areas. Working alongside experienced Category Managers, you'll gain exposure to supplier management, procurement projects, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, helping to deliver value for customers and the wider business.

This role would suit an Assistant Buyer, Buyer, Procurement Officer, Procurement Analyst, or someone looking to take the next step in their procurement career.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting procurement exercises, tenders, and sourcing projects.
  • Analysing spend, supplier, and market data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Producing reports and insights to support commercial decision-making.
  • Building positive relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assisting with supplier and contract performance management activities.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of category plans and improvement initiatives.
  • Providing excellent customer service and procurement support across the business.

About You

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, administration, supply chain, or a related commercial role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident working with data and spreadsheets, with good analytical ability.
  • Well organised, proactive, and keen to learn.
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes or public procurement regulations would be beneficial, but not essential.
