About Us
Groundcare Hire Solutions, part of Russell’s (Kirbymoorside) limited, is a leading groundcare and machinery hire company supplying a wide range of professional equipment throughout the UK. Our hire fleet includes ride-on mowers, compact tractors, turf care machinery, and specialist groundcare equipment used by contractors, local authorities, golf courses, and sports facilities.
The Role
As a Category C (Class 2) Driver, you will be responsible for the safe delivery and collection of groundcare and agricultural equipment across the UK. You will be the face of our business, providing excellent customer service while ensuring machines are delivered in a clean, safe, and operational condition. This role is 36 hours Monday – Thursday, with Fridays as overtime. Further overtime opportunities will be available. No weekend work will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect a wide range of mowing and groundcare equipment throughout the UK.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload machinery safely.
- Provide customers with basic operating instructions and safety guidance on the equipment being hired.
- Complete vehicle and delivery documentation accurately.
- Use a company-issued tablet device to:
- Take photographs of equipment.
- Capture customer signatures.
- Complete delivery and collection checklists.
- Record damage reports and equipment condition.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude when representing the company.
- Work closely with the hire desk and workshop teams to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Requirements
- Valid Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of driver hours and transport regulations.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help customers.
- A willingness to travel regularly within mainland UK with some nights out being required.

Desirable
- Experience transporting plant, agricultural, construction, or groundcare equipment.
- Knowledge of mowers, compact tractors, or agricultural machinery.
- Experience using electronic POD (Proof of Delivery) systems or tablet devices.
