Category Development Manager

We are looking for a Category Development Manager to join our Sales team based at our Redhill office. The role will be responsible for delivering insight-led category recommendations and executing customer-facing category plans across cheese & wider dairy categories. This will include supporting the development of category strategies and translating them into actionable range, space and in-store recommendations. The role will also work closely with Commercial, Marketing, RGM & Innovation to build compelling category stories, support range reviews and new product launches helping to drive measurable commercial outcomes with key retail customers.

Requirements

We would like someone who is experienced in Category Development within the UK grocery sector (or a comparable retail market), with strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data and insights into commercially focused recommendations. Skilled at influencing both customers and internal stakeholders through evidence-based storytelling, with a solid understanding of shopper behaviour, category performance, and customer dynamics. Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to create clear, compelling narratives for a range of audiences.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
