Our Sales teams help to deliver Vestacy's purpose by building shared success with our customers, making access to the highest quality brands possible in-stores and online.
Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success.
We have hundreds of salespeople across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.

In this pivotal role, you'll craft category strategies that blossom into action, fostering sales growth and market share expansion for us and our retail partners. The Category Development Manager is a key commercial role within the Vestacy Category Development team, responsible for leading category management for all brands across select grocery customers, whilst also being the internal category champion for our Surface & Laundry portfolio.
This role will drive category growth through best-in-class insight, analysis, and customer engagement, acting as a trusted category partner to both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Your responsibilities
Customer Leadership
- Lead day-to-day category management across designated accounts
- Build strong relationships with customer contacts
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations to customers
- Support joint business planning and strategic customer meetings such as brand innovation days
Category & Shopper Insight
- Analyse EPOS and panel data (NielsenIQ, Kantar)
- Develop category reviews and recommendations
- Translate data into actionable insights

Range & Space Management
- Lead range reviews and SKU analysis
- Support planogram development
- Own internal distribution tracking
Promotions & Trade Effectiveness
- Analyse category promotional performance and ROI
- Recommend optimisation opportunities
Internal Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Shopper Marketing and the Insights team
The experience we're looking for
Essential
- Experience in FMCG category management or similar
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Experience with NielsenIQ, Kantar or similar datasets
- Experience presenting to customers and managing external relationships
Desirable
- Experience with UK grocery retailers
- Exposure to space planning tools
