Senior Category Leader - Energy & Utilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Leader to lead procurement activity across a major Energy & Utilities programme. This is a strategic role for a procurement professional with deep expertise in energy markets, supplier management, and complex commercial agreements. The role is a permanent position and offers hybrid working. The expectation is 3 days in the office which is in the Hounslow area.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will develop and execute category strategies, lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, and provide commercial oversight across a large-scale operational programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement strategy across Energy & Utilities categories.
- Develop and deliver category plans aligned to long-term business objectives.
- Manage complex sourcing activities including RFI/RFQ processes and supplier selection.
- Negotiate and manage high-value commercial agreements and contracts.
- Drive cost optimisation, risk mitigation, supplier performance, and value delivery.
- Provide commercial leadership and governance across programme activities.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and act as a trusted procurement adviser.

About You
- Significant experience in Energy & Utilities procurement.
- Proven track record of developing category strategies and leading procurement teams.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy markets, including shaping, imbalance management, sleeving arrangements, and certificate retirement.
- Experienced in supplier negotiations, contract management, and commercial leadership.
- Able to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
