Category Manager
Location: Reading – 3 days per week
Salary: Competitive Day Rate | Inside IR35
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Category Manager on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Category Strategies for assigned sub-group of categories, balancing short and long-term objectives to meet business strategy.
- Support and execute stakeholder management.
- Delivering benefits through category management interventions within a complex project / programme delivery environment.
- Adopt a polite yet tenacious attitude to achieve goals and move projects towards completion.

Skills and Qualifications:
- 5 years’+ category management experience.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
- Supplier relationship management skills and experience.
- Running procurements, end to end.
- SC clearance.
- Sole UK.
- Ability to Support existing Category Manager.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry.
- Strategic.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills at all levels and strong communication skills.
- Able to support putting together packs/materials for supplier reviews.
- Proficient MS Office 365.

Desirable:
- Public procurement background.
- Defence experience is highly desirable.
- Some contract management involvement, good to have.
- Jaggaer would be beneficial.
- CIPS & MCIPS.
