  • Highly commercial environment with a fast paced evolving culture focused on growth and opportunity

This Category Manager role:

  • A new position ideal for an individual who wants to progress their career in a growing retailer.
  • Ideal for someone with a combination of buying and category planning expertise along with the ability to drive strategy through to successful effective execution.
  • Excellent Flexible working – 1-2 days in Central London – will be occasional UK travel.

The role:

  • As Category Manager, you will lead the growth of a key category, driving strategic growth, commercial performance, and development of the category.
  • Own the category strategy, growth roadmap, and performance, identifying and prioritizing opportunities for growth.
  • Manage the supply base and manage strategic supplier partnerships that support category innovation and commercial growth.
  • Develop practical project plans and drive implementation across stores, engaging with store and regional teams.
  • Analyze category performance, identifying trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for growth.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple functions including marketing and operations to deliver initiatives that support category performance.

Ideal candidate:

  • A commercial individual with FMCG buying and category planning experience from UK food major retailers.
  • Proven track record of developing and delivering a successful category strategy that delivers growth in sales and profit.
  • Ability to demonstrate the ability to deliver cross-functional initiatives and drive implementation across multiple stakeholders.
  • Passion for the customer, product, and flair for commerciality.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Good insight and data analysis skills to action opportunities to drive sales and profit.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills, able to work independently with a can-do attitude.
  • Excellent communicator who makes things happen.
