An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Procurement Directorate within YTL Construction.

The Procurement Directorate is responsible for procurement across YTL's UK businesses, including Wessex Water, helping to deliver value, innovation, and sustainable outcomes across major infrastructure and operational programmes.

We are seeking experienced procurement professionals supporting key areas of spend across the business. These roles will play a critical part in delivering procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and providing commercial support to stakeholders across the organisation.

Current opportunities require experience in the procurement of capital equipment, assets, and infrastructure-related spend, as well as IT hardware, software, and technology-related services.

Experience in the utilities sector is preferable.

What you'll do

As a Category Manager, you will enjoy working with your stakeholders to identify & unlock value and mitigate risk from existing and new supply chains. You will analyse the market, identify opportunities to aggregate spend, and develop new sourcing opportunities.

Working at an experienced level, you will ensure that all procurement activity and agreements are designed and implemented to deliver best value to the company.

You will liaise with the relevant internal and external departments within our growing supply base, focusing on sector efficiencies and innovation.

What you'll need

You will be degree qualified or have extensive equivalent working experience in the field of category management. In addition, you will ideally be MCIPS accredited or hold an equivalent accreditation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
