The Role & Responsibilities
A broad, high-impact role combining strategic category management with hands-on commercial delivery. Acting as Procurement's "front door," this person will triage spend requests, run sourcing events, negotiate and manage contracts, own a savings target, and help embed Shawbrook's new procurement end to end orchestration and CLM systems — all within an FCA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
Category Management & Sourcing
- Generalist coverage across indirect/corporate spend categories (no single vertical)
- Develop category strategies using spend analysis and market intelligence
- Run end-to-end sourcing events (RFx, evaluation, negotiation, award)
- Own renewals pipeline and drive supplier rationalisation across ~1,200 suppliers
- Contribute to company savings target and stretched target, tracked monthly
- Work with Relationship Owners and business to build and manage a savings/sourcing pipeline (price, volume, consolidation, efficiency)
Contract Management & Commercial Control
- Own the contract register; negotiate lower-level commercial agreements (SLAs, liability, IP, exit rights, payment terms)
- Identify risk deviations and escalate to Legal where needed
- Treat renewals as sourcing opportunities, not admin tasks
Operational Delivery (P2P & Systems)
- Assist in supporting the implementation of the new procurement end to end orchestration/CLM tool (key Year 1 priority) — workflow design, training, change management
- Operate procurement front door with policy-based triage and manage new procurement end to end orchestration tool going forward
- Lead interface into Finance-owned P2P system: adoption, data quality, query resolution
Governance & Compliance
- Maintain FCA-compliant audit trails, manage waivers/exceptions
- Coordinate and work with Third Party Risk Management for all sourcing activities and supplier due diligence.
The Person
Qualifications
Essential
- Generalist category management across multiple indirect spend areas
- Confident running sourcing events independently; able to support on complex deals
- Commercially literate in contracts: able to review and redline low-level agreements
- Procurement operations: P2P, PO management, contract registers, supplier onboarding
- Track record of driving system adoption and embedding process change
- Strong MI and reporting: spend dashboards, savings trackers, pipeline reports
- Confident stakeholder management including Finance and senior business sponsors
- High attention to detail; comfortable in audit-ready, regulated environments
- Strong written communication: business cases, briefings, MI packs

Desirable
- CIPS qualified (Level 4–6) or actively working towards
- Hands-on experience with CLM or procurement orchestration tools (e.g. Coupa, Ivalua, Jaggaer, Zip, Omnea, Ariba, Proactis, Atamis, Gatekeeper)
- Understanding of FCA Material Outsourcing and TPRM frameworks
- Experience leading or supporting P2P system implementation or redesign
- Supplier consolidation or tail spend rationalisation experience
- Familiarity with AI-assisted procurement tools
- Experience on digital transformation or technology programmes
