Description

As a Product Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to innovation and growth for our market-leading product portfolios while enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You will manage end-to-end product lifecycle management, from strategy development through commercialization and optimization. Working in a collaborative, global matrix organization, you'll partner with R&D, operations, marketing, sales and other cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products that solve customer challenges. You'll conduct voice-of-customer research, define product requirements, develop business cases, coordinate product launches, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers meaningful impact and visibility, with opportunities to shape product direction through data-driven insights and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category strategy and planning

    • Develop and implement category plans aligned with regional and global priorities
    • Support portfolio growth, margin improvement, and supplier funding initiatives
    • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver marketing campaigns and product launches
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of Fisherbrand and private-label strategies
  • Supplier management

    • Manage key supplier relationships through Thermo Fisher's Supplier Tiering Program
    • Lead business reviews, track performance, and encourage continuous improvement
    • Strengthen collaboration with supplier leadership to align on goals and drive engagement
  • Commercial performance and analysis

    • Review category performance against targets and identify improvement opportunities
    • Use data to understand market trends and support business decisions
    • Coordinate annual price roll activities and related supplier communication
  • Collaboration and improvement

    • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to execute strategies
    • Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency and customer satisfaction
    • Participate in Practical Process Improvement (PPI) activities to enhance team performance

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in product management, marketing, or related commercial experience
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Life Sciences, Business, Engineering, Marketing or related field
  • Proven success in product lifecycle management, from concept through commercialization
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop compelling business cases and financial models
  • Excellence in gathering and synthesizing Voice of Customer insights
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills in matrix environment
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities across all organizational levels
  • Experience developing and executing product launch strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision making capabilities
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Project management skills to coordinate multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Customer-centric mindset with deep understanding of market dynamics
  • Up to 30% travel required, including international
  • Knowledge of relevant scientific/technical domain preferred for specific product lines
  • Understanding of quality and regulatory requirements for applicable markets
