Job Title: Category Manager - Technical Engineering Consulting Services (TECS)
Location: Warwick (99% Remote)
Contract Length: 6 Months with potential to extend
Daily Rate: £500 Umbrella
Working Pattern: Full Time
Are you an experienced Category Manager with a background in Technical Engineering Consulting Services? If so, our client is seeking an exceptional individual to lead the development of a comprehensive category strategy that aligns with their engineering consulting needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment focused on delivering strategic infrastructure objectives.
Key Responsibilities
As the Category Manager, you will be accountable for:
- Developing a long-term category strategy for Technical Engineering Consulting Services (TECS) that aligns with business priorities and future investment plans.
- Designing a structured market engagement strategy to enhance competition and promote innovation within the engineering consulting ecosystem.
- Defining contracting models and commercial frameworks that support diverse engineering delivery requirements.
- Collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment of category strategies with business needs.
- Identifying and mitigating category risks, including talent shortages and market fluctuations.

Key Skills And Experience
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess:
- Significant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or commercial management within professional services or engineering consulting.
- A solid understanding of Technical Engineering Consulting Services and the ability to quickly adapt to its dynamics.
- Proven experience in developing category strategies and influencing senior stakeholders with market insights.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to leverage market data for strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage across procurement and executive teams.
- PA23 experience is essential, along with a focus on capital projects rather than operational projects.
Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent is required.
