About the Role

As a Category Manager in the Wholesale & Retail industry, based in London, you'll handle product categories to ensure they perform well and meet customer needs. Your work will directly impact sales and help the business grow through effective category strategies.

Client Details

The client is a diversified multinational, family-owned business with annual turnover exceeding £4.5 billion. Originally established as a chain of convenience retail stores, the organisation has expanded into a broad portfolio spanning wholesale, pharmacy, real estate, construction materials, and financial services.

Description

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Analyse market trends and consumer behaviour to identify opportunities.
  • Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to optimise costs.
  • Monitor category performance and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to align category goals with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee product selection, pricing, and promotional plans.
  • Ensure stock levels meet demand without overstocking.
  • Report on category performance to key stakeholders.

Profile

A successful Category Manager should have:

  • Experience in category management within the retail or wholesale FMCG industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data.
  • Proven negotiation and supplier management abilities.
  • Knowledge of pricing, promotions, and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
