What the Category Vendor Manager does at the Worldwide
Responsible for overseeing and managing the performance of all clinical vendors to ensure security and safety of supply throughout the lifecycle of Worldwide’s clinical trials.
Through the utilisation of vendor performance measurement tools, risk management plans, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, the Vendor Performance Manager, will work cross-functionally to ensure that vendors’ performance complies with agreed SLAs and quality standards.
What you will do
- Establish and maintain business relationships with third-party service providers providing services in support of clinical trials.
- Implement Worldwide’s vendor governance program strategy. Responsibilities include monitoring, measuring, and reporting on the compliance rate and effectiveness of the program.
- Responsible for supporting the Worldwide study teams with the resolution of vendor performance issues
- Work cross-functionally to assist with the resolution of vendor-related quality incidents and oversee the implementation of CAPA plans.
- Responsible for vendor performance management: measure and assess vendor performance using tools such as scorecards, satisfaction surveys, and vendor-provided KPIs.
- Responsible for documenting, evaluating, and reporting strategies and core vendors’ performance.
- Responsible for fostering and promoting a one-team culture through inter-vendor collaboration with the objective to deliver operational excellence.
- Work with Worldwide’s core and critical vendors to identify continuous improvement initiatives supporting Worldwide’s quality ethos.
- Responsible for implementing a service-category-based performance metrics program to enable a standardised approach to category management performance oversight.
- Responsible for promoting and organizing vendor-led training and workshop initiatives to increase Worldwide’s knowledge and understanding of our key vendors’ industry requirements and promote best collaboration practices.
- Support with vendor assessment processes and tracking Vendor assessments, qualification status, and audit certificates.
- Represent the Vendor Management Department in Sponsor qualification audits.
- Monitor and manage risks stemming from outsourced services through the implementation and monitoring of Vendor Risk Mitigation Plans.
- Any other activities in support of the Vendor Management Leadership.

What you will bring to the role
- Great interpersonal skills and the ability to interface appropriately with all levels of the organization across the global footprint.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to understand the importance of promoting a “one-team” culture with vendors and internal functions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Trackwise, Salesforce, Sciforma, or related database systems is an advantage
- Proficiency in MS Word (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet tight deadlines
- Experience in managing vendor performance and associated improvement plans.
- Awareness and use of continuous improvement techniques and practical implementation of lean manufacturing
- Relationship Management: ability to address issues at executive level as well as operational level floor
- Work to a high degree of accuracy and delivery within tight timelines.

Your background
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of vendor management experience required, experience with Pharmaceutical /CRO industry preferred.
