Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at Brannel School, in St Austell. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our food service operations, ensuring high-quality meals are prepared and served to our customers in a timely and efficient manner. This position is 10hrs Monday to Friday - 12-2pm

  • Assist in the preparation of delicious meals and snacks, following recipes and portion guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, counter, and dining areas
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations and food safety standards
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service during meal service
  • Assist with food inventory management and stock rotation
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment and utensils
  • Adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Passion for food service and customer satisfaction
  • Basic food preparation skills and knowledge of kitchen operations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift moderate weights for extended periods
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and priorities
  • Knowledge of food safety principles and willingness to learn and apply health and safety procedures
  • Previous experience in a food service role is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
