Frances Bolitho Care Home

Penzance, Cornwall

30 hour contract

Do you want a role where the work you do makes a genuine difference to people's lives?

We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Catering Assistant to join our dedicated catering team at Frances Bolitho Care Home in Penzance, a welcoming 45-bed residential care home where our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

As a Catering Assistant, you will be helping to serve more than just meals, you'll support our Catering Supervisor and wider team in providing nutritious, delicious, and well-presented meals for our residents, while helping to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment. Food is an important part of life at Frances Bolitho. You'll play a valuable role in helping our residents enjoy mealtimes, whether that's preparing and serving meals, keeping the dining areas clean and welcoming, or taking the time to offer a friendly smile and a few kind words.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working as part of a team, and understands the importance of providing a high standard of service. Previous catering experience is welcomed, but what matters most is your positive attitude, willingness to learn, and genuine desire to make a difference.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
