Full & Part Time Hours Available (will include weekends, evenings & bank holidays)

Catering Assistant Bank Contract

Tees Valley Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group, is looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. Tees Valley Hospital is in the grounds of Acklam Hall in Middlesbrough and opened in February 2018. The hospital delivers a range of specialties including endoscopy, orthopaedics, general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, gynaecology, dermatology to both NHS and self-funding and insured patients.

Reporting to the Catering Supervisor, you will provide a high standard of catering service as part of the support services team. The department opens from 7.00am until 6.00pm with a variety of shifts available during those hours. Experience is not essential as we will provide all training necessary for the position, although it will benefit you if you have worked previously in a fast-paced environment to high standards.

If this is you and you possess excellent communication and customer service skills, you are looking for a challenge? Be versatile and not afraid to take on additional challenges as you develop in this key role.

Key Responsibilities

  • To obtain food and beverage orders from patients, staff, and visitors to the hospital
  • To assist in the preparation and service of food to patients, staff, and visitors to the hospital
  • To assist in the preparation and service of buffets to visitors, functions, and meetings
  • To clean on a daily basis all areas of the catering department to the agreed standard
  • To have a good understanding of current health and hygiene regulations and ensure that these are adhered to in the preparation and service of all foodstuffs

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
