Job Description
Catering Assistant
Fairmead Rd, Lower Burraton, Saltash, Cornwall PL12 4LT
£26,438.07 pro rata, equates to £12.71 per hour
Working 15 hours per week - Monday to Friday 11:00am - 2:00pm
About Us
South West Norse is established in delivering catering, cleaning, and facilities management services to a portfolio of clients in the local region in partnership with Devon County Council, combining local knowledge with service delivery expertise.
The Role
As we recognise the importance of building a strong kitchen team to be a key ingredient to our catering success, we currently have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team at Burraton Primary School on a permanent, part-time basis.
You will be supporting all aspects of the catering service including ensuring completion of the preparation, cooking, presentation, and service of our nutritious food and beverage outlets to students and staff while complying with food hygiene, Health and Safety, and QA procedures.

This customer-facing role will provide you with great exposure to all aspects of the catering environment with lots of opportunities to learn and develop your skills within the industry.
Due to the driving requirements of this role, this role requires a full driving licence and use of your own personal vehicle. Mileage will be paid at a rate per mile*.
Our Successful Candidate
While we would ideally be seeking an individual that has previous experience within the role, at Norse we can offer full training and support for enthusiastic individuals who are looking to develop within the catering industry with a national company. We will expect you to demonstrate:
- Previous catering experience or willing to be trained in your new role.
- Friendly and polite customer service
- Capable of working to deadlines in a busy environment
- Working within a team
