Catering Assistant – Trevarna Residential and Nursing Home

About the Role
We’re looking for a Catering Assistant at Trevarna Residential and Nursing Home, located at 4 Carlyon Rd, Saint Austell, PL25 4LD.
This is a 40-hour-per-week role with a competitive rate of £12.71 per hour, operating within regular hours with no late nights or split shifts.

Role Overview
You’ll join a friendly catering team, playing an essential role in preparing and serving nutritious, well-presented meals for residents in a calm and well-organised dining environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the catering team with basic food preparation and meal service
- Present and serve meals to a high standard for residents
- Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards at all times
- Maintain kitchen and dining areas through cleanliness and organisation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance residents’ daily experience
Person Specification
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a caring, enthusiastic approach with a genuine interest in supporting older people
- Poses strong teamwork skills and enjoys ushering colleagues
- Understands safe food handling and cleaning practices
- Has previous catering experience or a food hygiene certificate, though we welcome training for willing contributors
- Possesses clear communication skills with a flexible attitude
