Job Description

Location: Park View Care Home, Feetham Avenue, Forest Hall

St Martins Care is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a vital role within our home, where you will be responsible for ensuring our residents enjoy healthy, nutritious, and delicious balanced meals every day.

Reporting to the Home Manager, you will play a key part in the daily operations of our kitchen. Your passion for food and commitment to high standards will directly contribute to the well-being and happiness of the people we care for. We believe that great food is a cornerstone of great care.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Preparing breakfasts, occasional home-baked goods, and basic condiments.
  • Assisting with cooking and serving our menu, with full training provided.
  • Managing stock control, ordering supplies, and preparing food orders for residents.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment by washing utensils and completing necessary health and safety paperwork.
  • Working collaboratively with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.

We are looking for someone with a positive 'can-do' attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work methodically. While extensive catering experience isn't essential, a genuine care for the food you serve is paramount.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
